Our limited series presents brief biographies for five of our earliest 19th century activists.  Here we honor the iconic and beloved Sojourner Truth whose messaging still resonates today, and Mary Ann Shadd Cary who was nicknamed the Rebel.  Today that she would be called a fiery and  unapologetic woman.
